Following the inaugural Rio convention on sustainable development in 1992, the world will celebrate its 20th year anniversary in Rio to ascertain humanity’s sustainable progress and discuss the future we want. Commonly known as Rio+20, this global summit will convene Heads of State and Ministers from more than 190 countries. This high-level conference will be a historical moment for the laying down of concrete action guidelines towards achieving a sustainable world. This will also be an opportunity for Rio and Brazil itself to support a global green economy movement and position themselves in a sustainable way for the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympics .
